Maternity street wear

Olivia Cowley January 11, 2021

Here are some maternity street wear looks that I put together before the Covid19 outbreak! I can’t believe we are living through these times, and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared. I’m trying to stay positive and not be too consumed by media as it can get you really low. Right now I’m living in my maternity leggings and t-shirt at home, I actually need to get some more clothes as I’m rotating every 3 days, and not prepared for this beautiful sunshine we are getting in London.

So these looks are in my 2nd trimester. I went maternity shopping a few times and really trawled the high street but I was really dissatisfied. The selection was pretty dire. There was no colour, just blacks greys and whites, dull cuts and mostly clothes that hide the bump. I’m happy and proud of the bump so I am not going to conform to this look ! So I chose clothes that have space for the belly region, adding zests of colour or unusual cuts. The only thing I have bought that is maternity, are my opaque tights and 2 pairs of jeans which are absolutely essential at this point in the game !

Wore my dress back to front. Think the back design is more interesting and makes the shirt billow in an unusual way.

It’s a get things done outfit. Warm, cosy with a London edge.

Wearing a summer dress with winter essentials underneath and on top. Throwing in biker boots for a grungy look.

Wearing my sparkly pinafore dress with poloneck and knee high boots. Got this hat from a vintage shop in Valencia.

Ready for a hen party. Not so crazy about my shoes but had such sore heels I couldn’t go higher. Could of gone flat but wanted to feel a bit ‘party’ !
