About Sian

Miss Murphy sadly injured her foot in rehearsal during '2 pigeons' ( an occupational health hazard ). This meant 2 weeks in a boot and countless hours in the gym rehabbing. I wanted to document her journey as I knew she would rock that  boot and pull out some original gym wear And that she did!

OFF STAGE.

Solomon. An artist with The Royal Ballet Company has an excellent eye for style, in the studio and out. Here, I'm focusing on street wear. His use of colour and humour hits the right amount of irony and lightness. The silhouettes he creates are original and fun. Its actually not a fashion statement, we really do wear leg warmers to keep our legs warm! Dancers love them and if you are stuck for a christmas pressie for a budding ballet dancer then hit those dance shops quick (H&M do an excellent range too). Go stripy, bold and bright!

Nutcracker Costumes - Up Close

Here is an up-close look at our beautiful and intricate costumes for Sir Peter Wright's 'The Nutcracker'. These were taken behind the scenes on Monday night's show. By far my favourite is Isabel's 'Reveller' costume, the detail is stunning. I would wear this out on the town with killer high heels and minimal make up... this is obviously minus the apron!!

Its Raining Men

It might be raining outside but the men are looking hot at work. A great range of style this week, from Marcelino's pop of colour to how Thiago throws on a black towelling dressing gown when it's cold - why not?

Ballet Bags

Us dancers are very picky when it comes to our 'Ballet Bags'. it could be anything from sporty to an uber luxurious designer bag. However one requirement we all have is for it to be big. We spend our days running from studio to studio rehearsing different ballets, and we need everything for the day in our bag. Ladies have at least 4 pairs of pointe shoes and men have different types of shoes for whatever role they are rehearsing. Also you will find leg-warmers, massage implements, first aid kit for toes, iPads, isotonic drinks and lunch. 

In my ballet bag you will find all of this along with a pair of shorts and two types of skirts (short or long depending on my mood) and a little bottle of perfume - because there is nothing worse than smelling how you look!!
